Goodbye 2010

HENRY

ABBY

I am really glad to see 2010 behind me. It was not the best of years. We lost a lot of money with the economy. My favorite pet I ever had in my life Abby passed. One of my dear sweet friends Faye passed away suddenly. Another friend Gayle gone. Both my age. My nerves were shot and I almost had a nervous breakdown. There, I said it. It was a sad year for me. But, I made it. We made it another year. Fairly good health. Family good. What right have I to complain?? I don't!!!Suck it up and be thankful that I have the use of my eyes, ears, hands and feet etc. You see, I know that there are no perfect years. Perfect life or perfect anything. If you think there is you are setting yourself up for a big disappointment!!I know I know. I always seem peppy and full of life and you know what? I am. That is me. Very rarely am I grumpy or in a bad mood unless some one ruffles my feathers. Ha ha !!!There you go!!I am making no NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS that I will not keep a day!!I will live my life to the fullest. Embrace the moments of childhood by living through my grandsons. Swing in swings and climb monkey bars. God willing!!If I want pizza I shall eat it. If I want ice cream I will eat it. I am getting too old to berate myself of the things in life that I enjoy. I used to count every single calorie and fat gram and yes I looked good!. I still do for a 55 yr old. I am not 30 anymore my daughter is. I will love and help people and all animals I can. I will be a good wife and Mother and an even better Nana!!SMILE!!!I will spend more quality time with my loved ones. I will own up to that. I used to visit my friends Martha and Frank a lot and lately I have gotten behind in my visits. They are getting older and in their seventies and I adore them and want to help them as much as I can. But I am not committing to anything that I know will make me miserable. I will take my days one at a time and not rush!!Thank you God for allowing me this day. For always being my Saviour and for giving me peace and hope. Because without that, we are nothing. Blessings and Love and Hope for you all in the coming year!!

Christmas Memory

One of my very favorite Christmas memories as a child was when Mom, Daddy, Rick and I lived on a ridge in the Tennessee mountains.High on that hill that Christmas Eve Daddy was reading the Night before Christmas to us when through all the twinkling stars in the sky we saw a light !Daddy convinced us that it was Santa's sleigh!!You see, he made us see the magic in Christmas! We believed that we saw Santa's sleigh that night!!Even though after we went to sleep I woke up thirsty and went to get water and opened Mom and Dad's door just as they were taking out a little high chair and stroller and new dollie. It's funny how things like that stay with us all our lives. Merry Christmas everbody!!!

Twas the night before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care in hopes that St. Nicholas would bring me a bear. The cats were all nestled and snug in our bed and I was dreaming of buckets, bowls and tinware. When out on the roof I heard such a clatter I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter. The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow gave a luster of midday to objects below. It was Santa Clause I could see ,headed straight over to Lloyd and me. I watched as he worked and loaded with presents, he placed them each one right under my tree. I went to get Lloyd and we watched with glee as he filled our stockings with lots of money. Then I heard him Exclaim er he drove out of sight Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!!

Then met my sister and we went to my sweet friend 's Bridgett Swindell and her sweet mom Betty Alexander's homes! What a treat. Wanted to share some photo's. Both ladies were featured in Country Sampler this year and you may remember their homes!!BEAUTIFUL!!So talented. Had a great time and it did my sister a lot of good to get out and see something different. Time is getting away and Christmas will be here. I am almost finished shopping. Mainly gift cards and stocking stuffers. Cleaning tonight so better get back with it. Have a wonderful evening!!

December 4th

1800'S HOUSE

ANTIQUE MALL

So many things to do but wanted to stay relatively close to home so I went to the little historic town of Lebanon Tenn to my friend Jackie's open house at the Lebanon Antique Mall!!So many wonderful things !!I did find a darling little wooden wagon I placed in front of the tree. Also a jar of raspberry/jalapeno spread for Christmas Eve. After that I picked up my Grandson Nick and we went to the Two Rivers Mansion. A historic mansion that was built in the 1800's and is still beautiful in all it's grandeur!!Across the way is the 1800's house where the McGavock's first lived while building the mansion. I love that old place but particularly the 1800's house. The slave quarters is underneath the house and is no longer open for tours. The 1800's house had amazing crocks, rockers and pewter. It also had tables set up full of homemade cakes, pies, cookies and candy for sale to help support the preservation of the Historical property.I bought a tub of homemade fudge complete with a ribbon and greenery and Nick picked out a dozen candy cane cupcakes for his family. Inside the mansion the parlor was set up with hot and cold cider, and plates of delicious homebaked cookies. We had a great time and afier that took a nap and later McDonalds. Naturally. A fun day with my Grandson.Blessings
