Happy Thanksgiving

I wanted to wish all my friends a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving!

One of my most treasured Thanksgiving memories was of my Grandmother's little yellow house. Surrounded by flowers and all the family was there. A crowded tiny dining room with turkey and dressing and all the trimmings!!

Now that most all of them  have  gone to Glory I hold the memories close to my heart. My Grandmother's house and my Mama's house/ Mama would put only her best dishes out and her finest Tablecloth. Sweet precious memories.

My today hold a special place in your heart and may you all be blessed/

Autumn thyme

I always used to say. I come alive in the fall! I just love this time of the year. The beautiful colors of fall and leaves falling from the trees. It truly is a beautiful season. I have not been out a whole lot due to the fact I have been very sick lately and not felt up to doing too much!

However, I still enjoy it when I do feel well. I really have turned into quote the homebody since moving last year. I love puttering around here. Spending time with my cats and my prims. LOL /It's a happy space. I light candles to soften the lighting and my ever growing abundance of tin lighting also helps/

Today, we celebrated our 4 yr old grandson Joseph's birthday! It was a fun day and we adore our grandchildren!!I am slowly making mental notes of decorating for Christmas!!I know, I am jumping ahead but am I really??

I lay awake nights decorating. Drives me nuts. I am hoping to do some fallish things though before it is all over with. It depends on my health. I am having a bone marrow biopsy next week, so please Say a prayer. I really don't want to elaborate or jump ahead just pray, That is all I ask

So, as always I shall share a few pictures before closing.Hugs and love,

A different life this year

Hello Dear friends,

I apologize for neglecting my blog and hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this fabulous fall weather!

For someone that has retired I am forever in a day busy. I like being a productive person as it makes me feel as though I have accomplished something!

I can hardly believe we have been in the condo almost a year now! In the house it took me 2 weeks to weed thru my fall things and decorate but now that we are here I was done in 2 hrs. I have not put hardly any Halloweenish stuff out but due to the boys will be adding some lighted pumpkins to the mix.I sold the biggest majority of it and feels so good.My daughter took quite a bit also.

I have an overall urge to take control of my life and have an essence of who I am. Not controlled by THINGS!!

Now don't get me wrong I have my things I love. My samplers, pewter, bowls, coverlets, crocks and tinware. But in the past I have allowed my things to control my life. Prim lovers know how easy this is to do.

Defining oneself with things is an all controlling venue that makes you irrational and selfish. Start letting things go one at a time if you want less and you might just be surprised.

I feel more power. Don't pay attention to the crazy red head because I still love my Prims. I own them. They no longer own me. Does this make sense to anyone out there???

I will share a few photo's before I leave/

Prim Blessings.

Fun with prim friends

Some of my friends and I were invited by our dear friend Terry Blythe to lunch at her B&B in Auburn Ky. So away we went. It is not far from Nashville and we  stopped at an antique mall In Franklin kY.  and I found a sweet little vintage crayon wood box and a piece of Rowe Pottery. We then headed to meet our other sweet friend Tara that was meeting us there for lunch as well. We had the best time and the food was fabulous.  Then we had a grand tour of the B&B and  it was wonderful. The house in it's grandeur was built in 1875. I love that about it!! We all had a great time with Terry and she also brought us out delicious cakes that were just too fabulous for words! There was a chocolate molten delightful decadent cake, a banana cake with  maple  added from their own maple trees and a wonderful strawberry cake. I had to mention those. :)

FEDERAL GROVE~~
Then, Tara invited us to her beautiful Saltbox and that was a wonderful surprise. It was just beautiful and perfect. Here are some of the pictures and I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed my day with these wonderful friends

PRIM BLESSINGS,

My day in Franklin

Well I am on a dose pak again!!Antibiotics again! It made me feel a little better but I have had a wicked headache a while now!!He says I have a bacterial infection. I have been sick this whole summer!! I am really bummed about that/ So, today I earmarked an estate ale and decided I would head to Granny White Pike in Brentwood!!Found some old books and that was it. Everything was sky high!!

So, I decided to just keep going and do some shopping in Franklin Tenn.If you have never been I highly recommend it!! It is so charming and historical. Takes me about half hours drive. They have some of my fave antique stores as well. Especially the Franklin antique mall!!
Today I noticed a place right across the street from FAM. It is called Arbour antiques!!5,000 sq ft!!of Prims and antiques~~What more could you ask!

I really liked it and already plan to go back!! SOON!!! I really loved this prim blue cabinet and it was only $45~~~ You can't beat that!! No, I did Not buy it as my taste are leaning towards colonial more than the xtreme Prims~~
I found this great old prim trey made of early wood  and this great Simple life book that I plan to read soon. After all that shopping I hit the local Zaxby's for a chicken salad sandwich and headed back to Nashville. It was a fun busy day and I almost felt like my old self sans the headache!!

Getting late and my clean sheets are in the dryer so must put them on the bed!! God bless you all and have a wonderful weekend!!

DR's notes

So, today I saw Dr. Hemphill, my oncologist/hematologist/. No CANCER at least that they could find~~He says I do not have leukemia or blood marrow problems. PRAISE GOD~~ But , he also says they can not rule it out totally so I will stick with this~~

My hemoglobin had gone from a 4 to an 11 as of today!! I was really anemic, according to my Dr. My WBC had jumped from 17,000 to 20,000 and it should be decreasing so not sure why that is/I will be going back every 2 weeks to have my blood drawn to make sure. And do follow ups with him!! So, other than my white count being so high I was thankful no leukemia~ THANK YOU LORD~

I figured since my news was good I would treat myself to lunch so I went to my fave lunch place/ Panera Bread~~ Had a cup of broccoli/cheese soup and half chicken salad sandwich. So yummy!!My stomach has been such  a mess that I was glad to eat something without feeling nauseated!!

There is nothing like the scare of cancer to give you a good look at your life's choices. It makes you realize how fragile our bodies are!!

Lloyd, took Nick and I to breakfast at Cracker Barrel yesterday. It was good but I got sick later and had to be in bed all day. The after effects of the Iron treatment. One thing it does cause is severe bone pain and he explained that was the iron attaching itself to my bones. Crazy huh??

I have lots of other tests to do in the coming weeks but I am very thankful today. This day I am alive. And feeling better. I love my family most and my dear friends/ This gal is going to rest and watch Ellen.
