Rain and thunderstorms

I believe in miracles~I tell myself this everyday. Life sometimes gets hectic and crazy. So we have to have something to hold on to. I hold on to miracles. I like rainy days like today. You can reflect on the beauty of the rain falling and I like the smell of rain. CLEAN!!It makes everything cleaner. Washing away the dirty world we live in. I still have Nick and Lloyd is home so I have been painting and made chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese for lunch. I am doing minimal things like laundry. Plus Nick and I are going to bake oatmeal cookies. It is so bad out we didn't drive him to school. That's ok with me. My grands brighten my days. What do you hold on to? When life is crazy and there are not enough hours in the day how do you relax?I like to just turn everthing off and listen to the birds singing. Really listen. I know the different bird sounds now by listening to bird jam!!I like learning new things. I have a wonderful red winged black bird, that visits every day. I love his sound. I also love the loud mouthed blue jay and the mockingbirds. I love them all what am I saying.LOL So turn everything off today just for a few minutes and listen to the birds. I have so many animal tales as I am the animal whisperer. They flock to me for some reason. Oh well it is cookie baking time so better get with it. Have a great day.

The simplicities of life!

I am amazed at how life is sometimes. We get caught up in our world and sometmes get lost in it. I love to sit back and watch my grandsons age 2 and 5. I get tickled at the things they say and the way they play with their little toys.My heart swells watching them. Life to them is cookies and milk. Spongebob Squarepants and ABC's~I like to sit in the floor with my cats and observe their world. All they want is a bowl of food, fresh ice water and a warm place to nap. Toys and hugs. Grandsons and cats. I like to sit in the grass outside and observe the birds. I love to watch them fly and listen to them sing. Putting yourself in another's world is good for all of us. It makes us see the simplicity's of life. My world is sometimes good sometimes not. Stress and being sick every day makes you do things like this. I have no reason to complain/I live in a beautiful house and I have $$ in my pocket. I am spoiled by my husband and loved by many. If I had a complaint it would be WHY?? I want to feel good and not be sick but I dare not go there. As long as I can go, do and be then I am ok. I can clean my own house in my own time. I can drive to Starbucks and hit Target. I have a very lovely life and I will never complain. As long as I have Grandsons, birds and cats!!LOL. I challenge you today. Put yourself in another's world. You may learn something. It takes you back. The smell of crayons, the fresh grass underneath your toes. The lovely feel of a flower in your hand. This is life. And the things therein.Have a blessed day!

My day in Kentucky!

my other goods!!
my navy homespun throw!!LOVE!!!

my wonderful find!!Old blue quilt w. browns and may I say LOVE it!!

Ok, so it has been a while (November) since I have been to Kentucky. So this morning I headed up that way, stopping at my SIL's to get a haircut as she is a beautician. Had a lot of fun visiting Gayle and had a few minutes so I got to see her beautiful home and that was a real treat! Her home is so pretty and she has some fabulous collections. She is so lucky as she owns her own antique store, which is right on the property and as we were driving down the lane I noticed an old Prim white church up the drive from her house!!How COOL is that?? They have horses and a huge pond stocked with catfish and there are ducks and geese that reside there as well. I love going there. We sit and talk and she had delicious white chocolate raspberry cookies. Had a fun time and even found some goodies. A wonderful old blue quilt, a homspun blue and tan checked throw and a blue homespun towel. Oh and the new Primitive Place mag which I plan to devour later!! I really did not feel all that good but I am glad I went and had a great time. Stopped in Bowling Green Ky and had lunch and went to a few thrift stores then headed home to Nashville. Can't wait till my next outing!!

Enjoying Life

felt bad here. I see it in my eyes!!

I know that I am the eternal optimist. I am very happy with my life even though I struggle every day/For those of you that don't know me, I have SLE*LUPUS), Fibromyalgia, sjogrens and raynauds. Google them. This is what I deal with on a daily basis. I was diagnosed in 1995 but had symptoms for years. It takes all I have to maneuver around some days. Everyone thinks I go a lot but I really don't. Lupus causes severe pain. Widespread. Memory loss. fevers of unknown origins. Constant infections. fatigue.I could go on and on. It is called the wolf, because it eats away at your life. devouring every thing you have. I sometimes wonder why I was stricken with this disease. I never question it. I just figured God saw that I could handle it and he allowed me too live with it. I never make plans because they get cancelled. You feel ok one min and the next minute the pain is so bad you can hardly bare it. It helps me to keep busy and walk around as I get stiff sitting. The only thing that helps is complete bed rest. I can't do that. I won't spend my days in bed. I want to live. I want to play with my Grandsons. I want to kiss my husband.I want to hug my cats and feed the birds. I want to love and help homeless, unloved animals. I want to share God's love. What it does for me. Being a christian allows me to not worry so much. To live and be happy. To smile at everyone I see and I do.Even if I am racked with pain.I don't mean to slight my friends. I just can not keep up with everyone. So if you have not heard from me in a while just throw me a line.does not mean I don't care. Simply means I have a bad memory/I love and cherich my friends. I am not perfect. I am a human being with lots of health problems/But I am a christian. If you want to know how to become one please message me.I pray a blessing on you all. Read John 3:16/ I claim this verse to get me through life. PRIM BLESSINGS, CANDI

Is it SPRING yet??

Please Mr. Statum do not mention that four letter word again!!Begins with S and ends in W!!SNOW, yes again!!Oh well it is winter and I suppose that is ok. In a few months we will complain of the heat!!!haha!! I don't mind cold weather too much as it is kinder on my Lupus flares than heat for some reason. I have managed to clear out a lot of things and sell them to get my life in order. I just can not stand things to be crazy I need organization. I cleaned out all my kitchen drawers last week and threw out and organized. My Grandson nick so loved the JUNK drawer as he kept his toys and anything else he could find in there and his Nana ruined it!!go figure!!that is funny as I watch the boys when they come over and they look through my fridge, the pantry, the drawers and cabinets. LOL!!!I used to do that at my Grandmothers all the time. She kept a plastic container on top of her fridge with coconut cookies, chocolate and vanilla fudge cookies and always lemon cookies. And Lays chips. I keep oreos and Dorito's (TO name a few) for the boys, Plus all kinds of drinks. Diet sprite, (They are not allowed caffeine)apple juice, OJ, and chocolate milk. So when they come over and things are moved they don't like it too much!!It is funy how I find that I am more like Grandmother all the time. Haha/ I decided since I cleaned all he drawers I needed new dish towels, cloths and pot holders. I love White sales in January as you can get these items for a song!!Now, I don't mind putting dishes away from dishwasher!!Now, Spring please. Maybe by spring I will have the spring cleaning done!!

My Grandma's biscuits

My grandmother was indeed GRAND in every sense of the word. She was a country woman, who's mother died in childbirth so she never knew her mother. She was sweet and had the softest skin. She always smelled like Jergens lotion and juicy fruit gum! She was kind and NEVER raised her voice. She gave the best hugs I have ever known and would kiss my cheeks a thousand times like I do now with my grandbabies. The thing about grandmother was that she could make THE BEST BISCUITS in the entire UNIVERSE!!!I'm telling you.It was an art with her. She baked them every morning without fail. First she took her flour. And then, in her terms, a fistful of shortening. Add buttermilk. and she turned the dough so miraculosly that it formed perfectly in her hands. She then patted them out and were all a perfect match. The coffee would be brewing and sausage frying in the pan for sausage gravy. It was devine. Her homemade pear preserves were so good you couldn't stand it!!I have tried making My Grandmother's biscuits but for some inane reason the dough gets webbed between my fingers making a gooey mess. I just buy frozen instead. And NEVER cook sausage or gravy as too much fat and cholesterol!!My how times have changed. I will always cherish those days and weekends at Grandmother's house in Avondale East Chattanooga, Tennessee.
